Sweet and fresh

That is this look seen on Eva Longoria-Parker in a recent spread:

I saved it because I liked the simple but fun dress so much, but didn't think I'd find anything comprable until I was perusing the Forever21 website today, and what to my wondering eyes should appear? This little number

This Chiffon Tube Dress is only $12.50!!!! And it comes in several colors, but this powder blue/green totally captures the vibe of Eva's dress I think. Too cute!

Perhaps its because I had leftover birthday cake last night while loafing and playing video games...

But I'm feeling a little bit "ugh" this morning.... So when I saw a reference to celebrity trainer David Kirsch's thermo bubbles

it sounded intriguing. Here is what the product description reads:

"Delicious berry flavored beverage melts away the fat naturally!
With two proprietary blends of vitamins, herbs and minerals - a Weight Management Blend and a Thermogenic Blend - reduce the weight and burn the fat while maintaining your mental focus and physical energy."

Hmmm.... It's $40 for 10 servings, which is a bit pricey for this girl, but really that's only $4 a drink, which rivals any fancy drink at _____ (fill-in-the-blank coffee franchise of your choice). I looked on his site but I couldn't find info as to if his products were cruelty free, but since I know he is involved with animal rights issues and has been for some time, it would lead me to think (or hope so). Does anyone know? Has anyone tried this product? I might have to further investigate. Or maybe I'll just get out the ol' tae bo dvds this weekend. It's really a toss up at this point.

I CAN'T STOP PINING FOR COCONUT!

All I want is the scent of coconut. In everything. It reminds me of the warm weather I KNOW will be here soon. It is sensual, but natural, and makes everyone feel happy and relaxed. At least that is what I feel when I smell it. So.... I have been oggling these awesome coconut scented goodies from The Body Shop (which is a great, long time cruelty-free company that I should patronize more often). I need to go.

1. Coconut Bath & Shower Cream ($11, 8.4 fl oz)
2. Coconut Body Butter ($20, 6.9 oz of moisture intensity)
3. Coconut Body Scrub ($20, 6.9 oz)
4. Coconut Milk Body Lotion ($13, 8.4 fl oz)
5. Coconut Perfume Oil ($16, 0.5 fl oz)
6. And if I want my apartment to smell de-lish too, Coconut Home Fragrance Oil ($7.50. 0.33 fl oz, and right now it's buy 3 get 1 free!!!)
Obviously the Body Shop sells a variety of scents in their products, but I have been accused of having tunnel vision before, and right now I am looking down a long, coconutty tunnel of tropical relaxation. Ahhhh. I want it all now!

Gray is the new...

IT color?? Black?? Neutral? I don't know, but I DO know that alot of fashionistas have been sporting it lately.

I love gray. It happens to be a flattering color on me, but I tend to think that within the whole gray spectrum is a flattering color on almost everyone. Plus it is chic and timeless. Here are some gray pieces that I found enticing...

1. Gathered Jersey Dress ($19.80) Forever21

2. Pleated V Neck Dress ($22.80) Forever21 3. Grey Buttondown Sweater Jacket ($17.95) from Heavenly Couture (www.getheavenly.com)

4. Long Fuzzy Sweater Cardigan ($17.95) Heavenly Couture

5. Merona Satchel ($22.99) from Target

See? Gray can be chic and fun, not dowdy or dull. I'm tellin' ya.

Fully In Bloom...

I saw this picture of Sarah Michelle Geller at the recent Paley Center Buffy Reunion in this petal-colored dress a little while ago, and just kept coming back to it. I'm not sure I'm super hot on the black tights and shoes, but the dress is excellent! The color just pops, but isn't too over the top.

Then I happened upon this dress on Forever21.com (Lily Flower dress, $27.80), it is a different (but equally cute) style, but has that same great petal color. Love it! PS - it also comes in a nice leaf green color...

Mellow Yellow...

I can't BELIEVE how much yellow is in this season! But I love yellow, so I'm happy. If the sun isn't shining where you are yet (or even if it is) sport some of these cute looks and increase the sunny factor...

1. This Button Up Ruffle Dress from GoJane.com (cotton/spandex $25.99) comes in several cute colors like Coral, Teal and White, but I think this yellow one would be great with a simple pair of sandals.

2. Or for a different take on the "little yellow dress", how about this one from Forever 21 (rayon, $24.80)? Oh this is such a happenin' dress...
3.
This Canvas Ankle Strap Wedge from GoJane ($20.99) comes in several shades as well4. Or this round toe flat for $10.99 from GoJane
5. And does anyone else think these Flower Canvas Low Boots from GoJane ($11.99) are really cool? I do

Dreaming of swaying palms on a Monday morning

Perhaps it is the fact that I am sitting in my office on a beautiful Monday morning, but all things coconut or otherwise tropical sound especially appealing to me today. I must say that I have been very impressed with everything I have bought from Alba (http://www.albabotanica.com/) so far, including my weeklong night cream experiment, so while perusing their website this morning, this product sounded divine ($11.95 for 20 oz)

Their Coconut Milk Cream Body Wash, from their Hawaiian Spa line, sounds soooo relaxing and good for my skin, with cocoa butter, shea butter and flax, safflower and borage oils, as well as coconut and aloe, all packed in to 7 fl oz of tropical goodness for only $8.95! WOO HOO!

This sounds de-lish as well - their Passion Fruit Bath Salt (also from their Hawaiian Spa line) is a blend of epsom salt and sea salts combined with passion fruit, pinapple, mango, vanilla and papaya extracts (and some hibiscus too!) for what sounds like a really really nice bath experience.

I am also currently completely addicted to Alba's Terragloss in Bloom (42 oz for $5.95)
This substantial but subtle gloss is once again a perfect shade of JUST SLIGHTLY blushed pink, totally natural looking and soothing to wear with lots of shea butter and vitamin E in it. Plus it smells like vanilla (good vanilla, not bad vanilla). Yesssssss......
